| Choose an authentic text which could be used in a language classroom tp raose students' awareness of textual patterns. Analyse the text in terms of 'problem-solution', 'general-specific', or claim-counterclaim" patterns.
To do this, you should draw a diagrammatic representation of the test and comment upon the following:
a) Which overall pattern best charaterise the text: 'problem-solution', 'general-specific', or claim-counterclaim" pattern? What 'signals' help you to decide on this?
b) What subbordinate patterns does the text display? How are they signalled and how do they relate to the overall pattern. | |
